End of season draws in after a successful Bear's season

This month has seen the close of the Mini & Junior Season. The season has been extremely positive as we have recruited heavily in the squads, but the weather has blighted our fixtures this year. Hopefully next season we can play more games.

Some highlights outside of the Mini and junior teams and success at the schools has been;

  • Easter Camp - a week long camp on Hankinsons field which saw over 40 players participate in rugby activities.
  • Mini & Junior Awards Night - Club has set a date for the Mini and Junior awards night save the date 23rd June 2018 (time to be confirmed)
  • Year 3&4 Pitch up and play - Congleton RUFC & Mossley Primary held the year 3&4 Primary school pitch up and play. Which is heavily focused on participation for children who don't get to play in competition. this saw over 40 year 3&4 players be able to learn skills and play tag rugby. A special thanks goes to Mark Armitt & Mrs Harrison of Mossley School for supporting the event and helping coach the players.
  • School Games Organiser - I have met with the School games organiser Miss Jackson from Sandbach Girls School and she is extremely enthusiastic to hold more competition for tag and contact rugby with the support of myself next year.
  • Sale Sharks 100 club - Coaches from the club attended the Principles of Defence at Sale Sharks training ground where Mike Forshaw Sales defence coach.
  • Sessions - There have been 17 coaching session's a week this month with over 400 children taking part in Tag, Touch and full contact Rugby.
